Sometimes we don’t choose our professions, they choose us!
When my best friend asked me to attend her birth in 2014, I never expected that I would continue on this path of supporting women through pregnancy and birth. It just felt right and the pull was too strong to resist.
Before I became a doula, I spent many years building myself into the person I am today. With two degrees, one in Fine Arts. the other in Psychology, I define myself through creative and thoughtful pursuits. I have a passion for learning and am always reading, researching and pursuing new windows of opportunity.
Born in Peterborough, Ontario, I traveled to Cape Breton in 1994, where I fell in love with the place and a man. I made Cape Breton my forever home in 1996, where I grew a family with two children and many adopted “relations”, people who share my same passion for creating a family from the people closest to us.
I now dedicate myself to supporting families throughout pregnancy, labour and birth, and postpartum. I am committed to providing honest, non-judgmental support based on experience and education. I will laugh and cry with you, hold your hand when you need it, but most of all I will be there for, listening to you and giving you what it is you need the most.
